Back in the Day at Akron

This is a fantastic video clip of the All American Soap Box Derby in Akron in the 30's. Wish we could find any film clips of the Salem races.

    At 3:12, I am pretty sure that that is the car that was driven by Junior Kendall from Portland, Oregon who placed 4th in the world at the 1936 race (which is the race shown in the video).

    Incidentally, he is also the first racer from Oregon to ever place in Akron.
